Karen Bradley was born and raised in Savannah, GA where she continues to study, teach and make art. She began her career as a Medical Illustrator (www.kbillustration.com) and has gradually transitioned into teaching and practicing Fine Art and Portraiture. Enthralled by the human face and body, the figure is Karen’s favorite subject matter. “Since I was a child, I would stare at people’s faces to the point where they were clearly uncomfortable... But I just had to look, and I still do!” Karen often works with live models in a direct alla prima approach.“ What a joy it is to study form and color and human expression... There is a certain point in the making of painting when the canvas becomes a living breathing thing right in front of me. This moment is truly exhilarating for me and is largely why I love what I do.”
